After months of preparation, the first Live-In-Person appearance of my Things is in the books! I was very happy with how the display table turned out, Dan did such an amazing job as resident carpenter. I met a lot of great people, passed out a bunch of business cards, and even found new homes for some of my favorite Things!
This was such an amazing (and exhausting) experience. In the time leading up to the event, many people asked me if I had thought of doing smaller, more local shows. My answer was, "Yes, of course." Though, I can't tell you why I decided to travel for my first show. Maybe I wanted to get all the kinks worked out before showing my wares to people I see every day. Maybe I still have trouble with identifying myself as an artist, so I felt the need to practice my identity in front of strangers. Whatever the reason, I have to do what feels right, whether the motivation makes sense or not.
Chatham is a beautiful town and we had a wonderful time. I came away with a couple of pages of notes, but since my next event is in October, I have plenty of time to work out the kinks. Til then, Cheers! and enjoy your Summer!
